YOU salon of Ellicott City Wins Coveted Redken Salon of the Year “Legends” Award
February, 2013 – YOU Salon of Ellicott City, Maryland has won the prestigious Redken Salon of the Year “Legends” Award. Owner Robin Gribbin was presented this honor at a reception during the 2013 Redken International Symposium in Las Vegas last month.
YOU Salon believes education drives success and places much importance on continued education. Last April, the entire staff visited the Redken Exchange in New York City for a private group training. Following the training, their pre-booking percentage increased to 82%. Each stylist is also given the opportunity to go to the Exchange at least once a year and the salon holds multiple large trainings a year, which focus on both business and technical education. Redken Artist and Educator, Jason Gribbin (Robin’s son), leads the technical piece of these trainings as he also serves as the salon’s Artistic Director.
“Winning the Legends Award is such an honor. We always strive to be the best – that’s what makes us as successful as we are. My team is the legend. They are the people who made this happen. We have 14 people on our staff – it’s a small salon and what they do is incredible. I stand back at amazement watching them. For us this reaffirms that what we’re doing is right,” says Owner Robin Gribbin.
While in Las Vegas, Robin Gribbin, along with her entire salon team, joined 10,000 hairdressers from around the globe to take part in the salon industry’s premiere educational event. The classes ranged from learning the latest trends and techniques in hair design and color, to digital and business building best practices.
During the Symposium, Redken hosted a special award ceremony paying tribute to the outstanding achievements of their Elite Salons, the crème de la crème of their group. Winning the Redken Salon of the Year “Rising Star” Award places YOU Salon at the top of this list when it comes to outstanding salon performance across the country.
After the ceremony, the celebration continued at an exclusive concert with Grammy Award nominees, One Republic.
